10 ways to study smarter this week

Turn lecture notes into a study guide

The job: Weeks of slides and notes, and the exam is on Friday.

  1. Make a notebook for the subject and add your lecture slides, notes and textbook chapters.
  2. Paste the prompt below and name the topic.
  3. In the ribbon, click Export, then Last answer only, then PDF, and keep it with your notes.
Prompt to paste
From my sources, make a study guide for [subject/topic]. Include: the key concepts with one-line definitions, the main ideas in a logical order, two worked examples, common mistakes students make, and 10 practice questions with answers in a separate section at the end.
02Flashcards & quiz

Flashcards, quizzes and a mind map

The job: Rereading feels like studying. Testing yourself actually is.

  1. Open Studio and generate Flashcards and a Quiz from the chapter.
  2. Make a Mind map to see how the topics connect.
  3. Come back to the quiz a few days later and see what stuck.
03Lecture notes · PDF

Turn a lecture playlist into notes

The job: Half your course is on YouTube, and nobody can rewatch 20 hours.

  1. Open the playlist and import every video in one click.
  2. Paste the prompt to get notes for each lecture.
  3. Export the notes as a PDF to revise from.
Prompt to paste
For each video in my sources, write revision notes: a 5-point summary, the key terms with definitions, and 3 questions I should be able to answer after watching. Title each part with the video's title.
04Practice paper · PDF

Practise with past papers

The job: You know the content but not how the exam asks about it.

  1. Add past papers and the syllabus to the notebook.
  2. Paste the prompt to find the patterns and get new practice questions.
  3. Answer them on paper, then check against the answers section.
Prompt to paste
Using the past papers in my sources, list the topics that come up most often and how they are usually asked. Then write 5 new practice questions per topic in the same style and difficulty, with model answers in a separate section at the end.
05Revision sheet · PDF

Make a one-page revision sheet

The job: The night before, you need everything on a single page.

  1. Pick one topic or chapter.
  2. Paste the prompt for a dense, one-page summary.
  3. Export as PDF and print it.
Prompt to paste
Summarise [topic] from my sources as a one-page revision sheet: the key definitions or formulas, the 5 facts I must know, 3 common exam traps, and a quick self-test of 5 short questions. Keep it short enough to fit on one page.
06Explanation

Get unstuck on a hard concept

The job: The textbook explanation just isn't landing.

  1. Ask about the concept with the prompt below.
  2. Click the citation to read the exact page it comes from.
  3. Ask a follow-up until you could explain it to a friend.
Prompt to paste
Explain [concept] from my sources as if I'm new to it. Start with a simple everyday analogy, then give the proper definition, then one worked example step by step. Tell me which source and page it comes from.
